Melinda Howe
Veteran teacher of Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet

Melinda Howe has served on the faculty of Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet for 40 years, where she began her own training under the direction of Marcia Dale Weary.  She received her BFA from The North Carolina School of the Arts, and then returned to Carlisle to work with Ms. Weary.

Her growth as a teacher led her to choreograph, and her ballets Vivaldi, Esprit and Blue Moon Waltz have been shown at the Northeast Regional Dance Festivals.   In 2000, Andante won her the prestigious Monticello Award for Choreography and in 2012 A Breath of Hayden was shown at the National RDA festival in Montreal.

At CPYB, along with her teaching, she creates choreography for the June Shows, assists with the Summer Program and also the Teacher’s Workshop.

Marion Tonner

Marion Tonner has joined the dedicated team of dance professionals who comprise faculty and staff of the esteemed Oregon Ballet Theatre School. She came to us from Orlando Ballet School, where she joyfully served as Principal.

A dance educator, Ms. Tonner was a senior faculty member of the University of the Arts, Miami City Ballet, and Boston Ballet. Marion also directed her own school for 10 years in Philadelphia, the “Marion Tonner Ballet Center.”
